Filter sets in general

We've introduced the recommended filters early July 2018. It is set by default and allows to only see the tips that match the recommended filter set.

Filter sets are a collection of rules controlling which matches you get to see. The rules contain minimum and maximum probability, min and max expected value, min and max odds and the tournament levels that should be included.

You can experiment with filter sets on our Backtest page, see how they would have performed on past tips and they can be saved so in the future you only get tips matching the filter set (with the aim to get similar results as in the backtest).

We've used the Backtest tool to setup a filter set which provides good yield and profit while provides a good number of matches too.

Let's take a look at what the Backtest tool shows for the recommended filter set. Note: We'll use the time range since 2018-Mar-01 (as this is the date where we started to get historical ITF Data9 to or 2018-Aug-24.

Ley statistics:

  • Yield over the full period is 5.7%

  • Profit is about 13500 units (with 100 units flat stake)

  • Success rate is 64%

  • The number of matches is 2373. That's 13.5 matches per day.

A different filter set - for higher yield and success rate

The TopTennisTips system allows you great flexibility in how you set your filters, which then controls what kind of tips and how many tips per day you get.

There are a lot of our users who rely on Backtesting and use the tool to set filters to achieve many different goals. Some of these goals are:

  • high profit

  • high yield (even with number of matches low)

  • high success rate (even with odds low)

  • low success rate (yes, not a typo, there is a use case for this too)

  • or just simply removing of all filters to show all matches.

We've took a look at a filter set that is more optimized on high yield (and success rate). Let's see what we got (over the same period as above).

Key statistics:

  • Yield is 13.7%

  • Profit is about 8900 units (with 100 units flat stake)

  • Success rate is 72%

  • The number of matches is 582. That's 3.3 matches per day.

Comparison

If we compare the two filter sets, its easy to see differences:

  • The yield in case 2 is much better: 13.7% compared to 5.7%

  • Profit is better in case 1. It's better by about 50%. Reason: there are much more tips in filter set 1.

  • Success rate is better in case 2 (it's optimized for this).

  • Big difference in the number of matches. While Filter Set 1 shows about 14 matches a day, Filter Set 2 shows only 3.

If you're someone who wants a high yield and better success rate but you're happy with a few matches daily (or on some days no matches), it's certainly worth to go with such a filter set.

Conclusion

The recommended filter set is not the only one that can be profitable. Different users can have different goals and TopTennisTips provides the tools for experimentation so you can reach (almost) any goal.

If you have any questions about these, contact us. Also, if you have a specific goal or suggestion, let us know.
